Food Service Packaging
for Cafes, Caterers and Food Businesses
We supply food service operators across Australia with the packaging they need to run a clean, efficient kitchen. Lidding film, rigid containers, and stock bags in plain and clear formats. All food-safe. All HACCP-accredited supply.
The right packaging keeps your food safe, your staff efficient, and your operation compliant
Food service packaging is not just about holding product. It affects food safety, portion control, storage efficiency, and the speed at which your team can work. Poorly sealed containers lead to cross-contamination. The wrong bag material fails health inspections. Lidding film that does not seal cleanly slows your prep line and wastes product.
UPAC has supplied food service operators across Australia for 49 years. We understand the pressures of a commercial kitchen and supply packaging that keeps your operation running to standard.

Food service operators face consistent pressure on
hygiene, speed, and compliance
Food Safety
and Hygiene
Every packaging material that touches food must meet Australian food safety standards. Non-compliant materials create contamination risk and compliance failures during inspections.
Portion Control
and Waste
Inconsistent portion sizes cost money. The right container format and bag size helps standardise portions, reduce waste, and keep food costs predictable across a busy service.
Speed of
Service
A commercial kitchen runs on speed. Packaging that seals cleanly first time, opens easily, and stacks efficiently keeps your team moving without unnecessary stoppages or rework.
Storage and
Shelf Life
Prepared and raw ingredients need to be stored safely between prep and service. The right container seal and bag format protects product integrity and extends usable shelf life.

Frequently Asked Questions
The questions food service operators most commonly ask us
about are packaging selection, compliance, and supply.
What is the difference between CPET, APET, and PP containers for food service use?
CPET containers are dual-ovenable and handle temperatures from -40°C to 220°C, making them suitable for hot food service and cook-chill operations. APET is a clear, rigid option suited to chilled display and ambient storage but not oven use. PP containers are microwave-safe and widely used for soups, sauces, and portioned hot food. Our team can help you select the right format for your kitchen and service type.
Are your stock bags food-grade and compliant with Australian food safety standards?
Yes. All bags we supply are manufactured from food-grade virgin polyethylene or polypropylene and comply with Australian food contact material requirements. They are suitable for direct contact with food including fresh produce, dry goods, and prepared items.
What lidding film is suitable for sealing prepared meal trays in a commercial kitchen?
The right film depends on your tray material and sealing equipment. Easy-peel film suits most chilled and ambient applications. Anti-fog film is used where product visibility matters. For hot food or cook-chill trays, a higher-barrier or ovenable grade may be required. We confirm compatibility before supply so your line runs without issues.
Can I order small quantities or do you require large minimum orders?
We supply both stock orders for ongoing food service operations and smaller trial quantities for operators setting up or testing new formats. Contact our team with your packaging type and estimated weekly volume and we will confirm what is available.
How quickly can you deliver packaging to my kitchen or facility?
Standard stock orders are delivered within 2 business days across most of Australia. For operators with consistently high-volume needs, our managed inventory program ensures stock is on hand before you need it, with no emergency ordering.
Do you supply packaging suitable for cook-chill and HACCP-compliant food operations?
Yes. Our containers, lidding film, and bags are all sourced from HACCP-accredited supply chains. For cook-chill operations specifically, we can advise on the right container and film combination to maintain safe temperature through chilling, storage, and reheating.
Can your containers go from the fridge directly into a microwave or oven?
It depends on the container material. PP containers are microwave-safe. CPET containers are dual-ovenable. APET containers are not suitable for heating. We can help you match the right container to your service method before you commit to stock.
Can I get samples before placing a full order?
Yes. We provide samples of containers, lidding film, and bags so you can check fit, seal performance, and suitability before ordering. Contact our team with your tray format, product type, and intended use and we will arrange samples.
